Ways We’re Celebrating Earth Day

Words by

At Gotham Greens, we treat every day like it’s Earth Day. Learn more about how we care for our plants, people, and planet, 365 days of the year.

Our Sustainable Practices
Green produce starts with green decisions. Our indoor farming facilities are sun (and wind) powered, and climate controlled for a year-round growing season. We grow using up to 90% less water and 98% less land than conventional, open-field farms. We then deliver our greens quickly after being harvested so they’re always fresh tasting, long-lasting and as nutritious as possible.

Our Community Partners
Since day one, we’ve been dedicated to urban renewal and becoming permanent fixtures in our home cities. By partnering with local schools, community leaders and non-profits, we help to put better food on the table through environmental, educational and community initiatives. These programs are rooted in the communities surrounding our facilities, but the impact extends beyond the borders of our neighborhoods.

Employee Service Day
Throughout the years, we’ve scheduled greenhouse group volunteer days and offer Volunteer Time Off so that our employees can take paid time off work to volunteer for a cause they care about. This year, our employees teamed up with community partners focused in sustainability, urban gardening, and trash cleanups across the country to celebrate Earth Day. In Denver, our team partnered with Village Farms at Stanley Marketplace to plant seedlings. In Baltimore, North Point State Park received a thorough cleanup from our local team.
